FINALLY!

Well, I did it (I hope). The design is basically complete, though I'm not completely happy. There are some things that I can't do right now - and I'm not sure if I can do them. I simply do not know enough CSS or XHTML yet. I hope to be able to add some additional illustrations to the background, but whether or not I can remains to be seen.

THE OTHER PAGES
On the top sidebar, you'll notice the buttons to take you to the other pages I've set up: my favorites' page (The Goods); my rantings' page (The Blues); my photos' page (Pictures); the RocketRat Blues comic strip page (The Strips); and my online Portfolio. Currently, the Portfolio is the only one you can get to right now. I'm busy finalizing everything else.

OTHER BROWSERS
I'm currently working with MOZILLA FIREFOX 2.0.0.4, and the display is beautiful. It also looks good on SAFARI. I'll download OPERA soon to run some tests. I'd like to download INTERNET EXPLORER, however, Microsoft doesn't distribute it for the Mac anymore. When I use IE at work, some items don't display correctly. I'd like to fix this, but I'm not quite sure how. IE is quite quirky and needs special attention. I suggest, that if you are still using it, switch! Try Firefox or Opera. I hear Safari is out for the PC now, so you can always try that!

OTHER NOTES
I'm finally free! Ladies and gentlemen, we have sleep schedule. And, in fact, I do believe that my current sleeping pattern is even quite better than it has been. Not as good as it was before leaving for Japan initially, but definitely since after I came.

As soon as everything is up and available, I'll make note of it!

Take it easy!

New Design...

I've held off on a lot of work recently. I have a new addiction...

WEB DESIGN!
I have been working on redesigning the entire RocketRat Blues site, nearly from SCRATCH! This means having to learn a lot of (X)HTML and CSS. This is obviously no easy task, but I have been pretty diligent about it (surprisingly). However, to make things easier, I'm using the CSS style sheet (what makes the blog look like the way it does) as a starting point. It's pretty well formatted, making it easy to find everything I need to.

The look of the site is nearly complete. Spending the better-half of two days burning my eyes out with images. It's looking great, though! All that's left is the dividers, the background(s) and the coding to make it all work! Huzzah!

As soon as I finish (which hopefully will be sometime this week [yeah, Mike, the dreaming RocketRat]), I will resume updating my online portfolio and start focusing on the RocketRat Blues comics.

A FEW NOTES ON MOVIES...
I forgot to mention earlier. On my way to and from America, I watch a couple of movies. Actually, I half-watched a couple of movies. I tried watching Bridge to Terabithia: I cried...cuz it was really bad. The dialogue must have been written by some left-out pre-teen, and was read (and passed) by some drugged out script reader. No good. I have to say the same things about Ghost Rider. Ugh.

...AND GAMES
If you're in anywhere in the world, playing the Halo beta, and you run into an English"man" who goes by the appropriate name "Captain Lip", kill him a lot. Even if he's on your team. I've never heard a child-of-thirty complain and insult so much in my life (over a GAME, no less)! Since murder is "not" an option, kill the crap out of that arrogant, ignorant racist douche online. If you do meet him, you'll figure out why.

Anyway, it's starting to thunder pretty harshly now, soooOOOO...

Until laterz...

Coming From America

Well, I just got back from my little teeny-tiny vacation to America, and I have to say, it's kinda nice to be back home. I wasn't sure that I'd miss this place (AT ALL), but Meg's here, and my friends, so...

BOOKING...
Though let me tell you, it was nice to be back home, even if it was for just a snippet of time.
Yeah, well, everyone had the same no-brainer idea that I had. This was to skip their Golden Week (a national holiday, celebrating something or other), wait until the end of the following month, and take their vacations then. So finding a ticket became a huge fiasco, using air miles was a no-deal, used up all the money for rent, and lost a day back in the states.

TRAVELING TO...
The first flight from Osaka to Tokyo was rocky (especially the landing). I slept through the second and longest flight, but the smell of the food coupled with the tiny LCD screen in front of our seats made me quite nauseous. FUN! I did get to watch Pan's Labyrinth. It was gruesome and cool! They changed the gate number on the third flight I had from Atlanta to Boston, gate AND terminal, so I did a bit of traveling during that time. Almost missed my flight. I met some cool people on the way which made the long waits at the airport easier.

BOSTON
So much had changed since I last saw Boston. Some of the Ⓣ stations I hit looked nicer, but I was surprised that they no longer use tokens. I knew that they had to change some time or another. Now they have the Charlie Card, which is pretty lame, I guess. But that's because I love my IC card. Just touch it to the scanner and put it away. No fuss or muss.

I met up with my college friend Mark and booked it to his house in Beverly. Man, that place NEVER changes. Played A LOT of Guitar Hero II for the PS2. It was rockin'! I played one of the chicks 'cuz when you're playing a game for hours on end, who would you rather look at, some muscly dude, or a hot lady? Me? Hot lady.

Saw Pirates of the Caribbean 3. It was pretty cool. The best part was Captain Jack arguing with all the other Captain Jacks in one of the trippiest sequences I've ever seen on film.

JERSEY CITY
Despite it being Memorial Weekend, there was no traffic to impede my bus ride back to Jersey. Our bus driver was awesome. When telling us the rules, he told it like it is. "If you're a jerk, don't be a jerk."

I got to spend some time with various members of my family which was really nice. I got to go to Hoboken and buy some books (there are crazy tariffs on imported books in Japan - they cost more than twice as much!) and some delicious vegan cookies which, I think, will not last out the rest of the week.

TRAVELING FROM...
I left my home in Jersey at 3:15 am for a 6am flight to Atlanta. I'm happy to say that I slept heartily during all three flights. So much so that my body wished to continue to sleep and could hardly keep my eyes open during my lay-overs.

THE END
And now I'm back in good ol' Daikokucho! The sights! The sounds! The smells! Delicious. Had a barbecue with my upstairs neighbors and rocked out on Halo 3 I have work early tomorrow, and I can't wait...to come back home after!

So, I bid you, abyebye!
