Well, my wonderful, beautiful wife has left me...for a mini-conference-type thingy for her job. She's in Tokyo, and I'm here, all alone. With no one to talk to except you suckers.
BAH! Be gone!
Wait...I'm sorry...don't leave.
She works for a make-up company called Ayura. It's an "all-natural" outlet under the Shiseido Cosmetics Umbrella. She spends her exhausting days working at a make-up counter in a huge department store called Daimaru. The branch she works for is a particularly busy one as it sits in one of Osaka's most major train hubs, Umeda.
She comes home with many a tale of crazy customers that would curl your cockles! Many of them revolving around lonely women who have no one else to communicate with, apparently. Some even about customers who promise to buy make-up, wanna have their make-up done (an hour-long process), and then bolt without so much as an 'arigato'. Many other things cause her to go crazy, but mentioning them may jeopardize the job she loves. The job she hates.
Poor girl comes home after standing for eight hours - straight. OR MORE, without any benefit. You see, in Japan, not all companies pay overtime. Whether that's legal here in the J-Land or not, I'm not sure. I'll have to look it up. Anyway, Ayura seems not to have this particular policy, though will pay if an employee will concede to jumping over a hundred hurtles everyday to get it. Meg is not particularly one of those people.
Anyway. She's in Tokyo, having to work, but having a lot more of a ball than she's used to in Umeda. Still, I miss her. Thursday's her birthday (as well as my Aunt Penny's), and Friday she comes home. I think I'll take her out to see The Pursuit of Happyness. I hear it's excellent, making even the hardest stone weep like six-year-old who's older brother has just finished beating, burning, tearing, flushing, shooting, stabbing, gnawing and kicking his oh-so favorite little teddy. That brother's got issues.

Anyway. I've been doing a lot of illustrations lately, and many of those are on the computer. I have a new character for everyone that will have his own little place here on RRB! I will share the drawings with you as soon as their ready.
Meanwhile, check out my portfolio for a long overdue post and updated Illustration and fashion sections! Check it out!
Until laterz...
Mike, I shed a tear for Boston's loss of cognitive abilities, The RocketRat!
