Moving: Sometimes A Good Idea

Yeah. So. We're poor now.

Not blindingly poor, but each month is filled with uncertain ends. On average, we have about 4000 yen (Forty-something dollars, US) in our bank account by the end of the month. And that's only if I don't eat. And my wife mooches off her parents a bit. Not the finest of hours, I can tell you.

However, despite this sorrow, I made a decision in the past that saved our skins, to a degree anyway. We used to live in a town called Nishinomiya. It was not a cheap apartment we lived in in a not-so-cheap area. We didn't do enough research. We didn't look at too many other places. It was only 10,000 yen more a month than our first apartment in Osaka and it was three times the size.

At one point, and I don't remember the reason too much, but it probably had to do with money, I said that it was time to move. This wasn't even six or seven months after moving in. I think we wanted to 'save' some money.

So, upon saving some money, and borrowing the rest for the ridiculous moving costs here in the J-Land, we moved to our current residence in Mukonoso. And thank me for doing so. I would hate to know what would have happened if we stayed in the area twice as expensive and in an apartment three hundred dollars more expensive.

So, keep in mind. Even though things are very difficult in the beginning, more often than not, the hard work reaps the most benefits.
