As many people know, celebrities too high brow for commercials in the states, opt for the commercials in Asia because they're so much better... paying. Brad Pitt and Cameron Diaz slut out Soft Bank phones. Catherine Zeta-Jones whores out shampoo. Something told, me, however that George Clooney of all people would avoid these things. He's so high-class. The last real Hollywood movie star - and the first, last real Hollywood movie star to spread syphilis for Honda.UPDATE: It's not as though I actually mind celebrities doing commercials. Not at all, but if they're too smug to do it in their own country because commercials are too low on the spectrum of what acting is - then they go ahead and do it elsewhere, then it's disingenuous.
On top of that, I feel that if any celebrity using their own persona, and not playing some character, to promote a product that they themselves don't use, that's pretty disingenuous. Like radio DJs have to like the product before legally giving a spoken advert on their show. If Clooney doesn't drive a Honda Odyssey, or even has one sitting in his garage, then poo on him.
Oh, and speaking of disingenuous, fcuk Plastic Surgery loving - superficial beauty advertising - Buddha-Richard Gere!
