On the use of 'Amn't'

When you work in a foreign country, one where English is not the primary language, and you teach said English to those who do not use it on a daily basis, you will hear some weird stuff come out in English that isn't English. In Japan, we call it 'Engrish' - or 'Japanese-English' when being polite about it. However, just sometimes, that 'Engrish' - or 'Japanese-English' - makes some sort of sense.

Some months ago, a fellow teacher - one who taught in the same school as I in Umeda (Osaka) - was conversing with a student - or 'conversating' as many say, despite English being their first language. When said teacher asked said student a question - the question being lost on me, and for the sake of the store, unnecessary - the student responded 'No, I amn't.'

Though my ears are virgin to this word, it makes sense, and methinks I shall be adopting it.

(PS. I just found it all over the webbernets. I amn't going to be adopting it.)
